Are we addicted to social media?
Since so many days i was just thinking that i am not influenced by some social media influencers, just because i don't like their attitude and content, but forgot that commenting and discussing about them with my groups, and again watching their content is also an addiction!
Have you ever hated some social media content creators for their cringe contents and still visit their profiles? This happened for me many a time, if your answer is yes don't worry i am here with a solution. The only solution is to ask yourself "whatever the cringe content maybe, they are minding their own business, am I?" this question was a slipper shot for myself and from that day(a week ago) i stopped surfing other's accounts.
Apart from this, there is a serious issue whether we are financially stable or not some people just want to replicate themselves with the attire they see in online. This is a very serious issue, i am not complaining that we shouldn't buy those items which so called celebrities wear, but ask yourselves that "Are you capable of buying those and do you really in need of those items?". Don't get admired by those people and lose yourself.
All that glitters are not gold. Spend your time in a productive way, rather than spending time watching vlogs. Try spending time alone, explore yourself. Learn skills to develop yourself, it need not be in a geeky way, let it be anything, even your hobby. Limit yourself from scrolling all time. Work on your strength and weakness. Recent days while scrolling if we happen to see any videos of food bloggers the urge to eat anything even without feeling hungry, which affects our gut health. In addition to this, even our concentration span is reduced and the habit of scrolling has increased.
Never Ever get influenced by people by watching their digital presence, at the end of the day for most it is just going to be views and cost so there is no compulsion for them to be genuine. Just because you get admired by them doesn't mean all they say has to be true. Have the habit of thinking, search and read about anything you want to buy.
Before concluding, let me say some tricks that helped me to overcome digital addiction,
1. First and foremost, embrace everything you have just because you don't have something you are amazed, doesn't make you feel less valuable.
2.Likes and follows are not going to decide your life.
3.Take note of the time you spend in social media, analyze and schedule what can be replaced as an alternative.
4.Try uninstalling the apps which seems to be addictive, i swear you will install it again many a time but at one point you will give up the addiction (works pretty well that's how i stopped using snap chat).
5.Spending time outdoors, engaging yourself in any kinda sport will help.
6.Talk with your family, spend time with them and help them.
7.Be addicted to your self growth, be it in a personal or professional way.
8.Believe that you are more capable of what you think.
Remember one thing always get inspired but not influenced by your surroundings.
